    Summary

Elrond has just awoken to find himself a prisoner in an Enemy camp. He has a concussion, and he is surrounded by three very young (and scared) elves. None of whom he recognizes, and all of whom are looking to him for leadership in making an escape attempt. In the planning of which, it doesn’t take Elrond long to figure out that he lost something, when he was hit on the head. Specifically, about an Age’s worth of memories.

“It will be easier to escape from this camp now,” said Elrond, “before they take us all the way back to Angband.”

It was Thranduil, who, with a light of horrible comprehension dawning in his eyes, then asked, "Elrond, when do you think it is? I mean, what year?"

“I'd rather lost track of the days, even before that blow to the head,” Elrond admitted carefully, “So I'm not sure whether it's still Year 572 of the First Age of the Sun, or if it is already Year 573.”

“Um. No, it’s not,” Thranduil corrected, with a wince.

    It really wasn't.

    Summary

It's eight years after the war and Hermione Granger has taken a break from her career at the Ministry of Magic to compile an oral history of the conflict. She's interviewed just about everyone she can get her hands on but she wants to be thorough. And that means getting in contact with a very unwilling Lucius Malfoy.

    - - - - -

"For your information, I'm not shopping it around yet because I still don’t have access to all of the sources I need.”

“You’ve got to be joking. You must have interviewed every living person that was even tangentially connected to the war.”

“Not everyone,” Hermione said, turning in her seat to reach up for the mug of tea she’d left on the kitchen counter.

“Who’s left? The trolley lady from the Hogwarts Express?”

    “Your father.”

Malfoy opened his mouth and then closed it again with a click of his teeth, shaking his head. “You don’t want to do that, Granger.”

    Summary

Many people say that Will Graham has an empathy disorder, brought about by the abundance of mirror neurons of childhood never burned away.

What very few say, as very few know, is that those mirror neurons stayed in defense of a far darker thing, lurking about in the shadows of his skull. They helped him connect to others around him, a barrier to the evil inside, a balance with which to find himself.

And then Harry Potter went to die, and the horocrux was destroyed.

After that, the mirror neurons he'd never known he'd had were more of a pain than they were worth, honestly.
