Hermione has never felt so lost. She was the first to think peace would have brought out her best work: the brains of the Golden Trio, the brightest witch of her age, a Champion of Creature's Rights. She had the tenacity and prospects to make a change for the better - yet she wasn't finding fulfillment behind a desk at the Ministry. Wise beyond her years, she knew only students of peace could make worthy changes for the future when armed with the knowledge of the mistakes made in the past. Something was missing. It itched below the surface, a question lingering with an answer yet to be found, perhaps in Hogwarts.
Fleur had learned the age-old dismissal: Whatever will be, will be. The past is set in stone; it cannot be changed, and the future has not yet happened. The only thing now is the gift of the present to make do with what you can. She could only wait, standing vigil, until the consequences of her war-time actions caught up to her. Grandmother always said the sun and moon were always destined to meet. It was inevitable.

Summary
Villanelle watched the microcosm of reactions that expressed terror and appreciation and annoyance and fascination flit across Eve's face. She had forgotten the effect it had on her. Playing with other people, manipulating them, that got boring in minutes. Killing them barely raised her heartbeat. But the slightest furrow of Eve's brow had her enraptured.
It would have been nice if she knew why. Maybe if she studied Eve for long enough, she would find out.

Alternate canon starting at the end of Season 1, because this is where I think the show should have gone. Villanelle is extradited and recruited to MI6 as an assassin. She only has one request—that Eve Polastri be her handler.
