Summary
There is a whisper about the abandoned temple on the mountain, above the village where a demon child tore a man to shreds in broad daylight. The priests had all deserted it not long after, muttering about curses and journeys of purification. Funny, isn’t it, how even a place dedicated to the gods can be stained so easily, as if demons had already claimed the land and spilled blood to desecrate it.
In the springtime, the people watch the falling flowers swirl downwards from the slopes, and they don’t notice: sometimes, when the lights are on in the once-abandoned temple, the petals drift past far out of season too, dancing green and gold in the summer nights and winter mornings, right before the dawn.
