There are drawbacks, of course, to skipping meals. Dizziness, fainting, weight loss too quick for the body to adapt to.
It’s Astarion's first table of the day. The dull, slow thump of his heartbeat rushes past his ears. His knees buckle with every step. He’s falling apart, he knows this, but with ten cents in the bank and another few days to wait until his paycheck comes in, all Astarion can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other and hope he doesn’t collapse. There’s no time to think about the metaphorical hand tightening around his stomach and throat.

Summary
Prompt fills for Whumptober 2021
Listen, I had plans to write one for each day, but then some that I did write ... grew. A little. Or a lot. Maybe there will be some drabbles, but this is probably gonna be more like a small selection of Whumptober fics rather than a full Whumptober. I do hope that the quality of the ones I do post makes up for it.
