Summary
Claude paced the length of a dark library, flipping through the pages of what was now his third book from Abyss’s collection of forbidden texts.
Three high-ranking students of the officers’ academy technically weren’t supposed to be roaming the walls of Rhea’s very well-kept secret underground dungeon. But one thing had led to another, and besides, a certain prince appeared entirely unaware that their mere presence here was surely breaking ten different school rules.
Dimitri held a candle to the cracked stone walls of the library, inspecting the lined books with interest. “This place is a most… unique town, is it not?” The man thought aloud, smiling faintly. “Incredible, really, that those who faced oppression on the surface can find sanctuary here.”
The poor and sick living in a sunless, smelly crypt helps them…how? Claude thought but didn’t say. “Heh, that’s a… kinder way to look at it,” he hummed under his breath.
“I find the whole affair more suspicious than anything else,” Edelgard said, her stern gaze evaluating an old scroll between her fingers.

Summary
Dried mud and black rocks. That was what the skin of his remains resembled when his body was slumped before Felix. There was no golden hair to speak of on what had been his head, and pieces of him were missing where the cindered flesh faded into bones.
Felix heard the gasp and sob of Ingrid somewhere behind him, but she might as well have been miles away from where he stood, transfixed.
The metal armor must have pressed against his skin like a branding rod, Felix found himself thinking numbly as he looked over the body.
He looked again at the face of the thing that lay before him. It had, almost, been burnt beyond recognition. But, the flames hadn’t done enough to obscure the familiarity of those features he knew so well. Felix felt almost unconscious with the shock of it all as he stared down at what had, at one time, been the man he was supposed to protect with his life.
...He had allowed this to happen.
“Now then.” The emperor standing across from Dimitri’s corpse spoke in a heavy voice. Felix’s eyes remained fixed downward, not looking up to meet her gaze.
“I believe we have terms of surrender to discuss.”

Summary
“This is… stupid,” Felix muttered, coming to the decision as he spoke it.
“Stupid?” Sylvain repeated, a wry smile growing on his face as he twiddled a small wooden horse between his fingers.
“This isn't like real-life battle strategy at all. It's a waste of time,” Felix huffed, glaring down at the chessboard. Felix had reluctantly accepted Sylvain’s invitation to play against him after being pestered enough times. The idea had seemed more favorable than tagging along to watch him throw himself at every passing girl. The game had been pitched to him as an imitation of real-world tactics — but that idea was proving to be quite the ludicrous assertion.

“Well, yes… However, you actually ride out into battle with your horse. It’s productive to maintain mutual trust with working animals. I’m just indulging myself,” she huffed begrudgingly, feeling defeated. “Just don’t go around camp mentioning you found the emperor alone at night coddling a stray cat.”
Ferdinand looked at her. He looked uncharacteristically caught off guard by this— as though he was actually thinking over what was in his head before it came spilling out from his mouth.
“What is it?” She asked.
“Oh, it-it is nothing,” he stuttered. Strangely enough, it was Ferdinand who now looked embarrassed. “It is simply that... You and Hubert may be more alike than I had realized.”
