    Life was hard for everyone who lived in ShadowClan during Russetstar's reign. They were all still recovering from the terror that Coppicestar, the previous ShadowClan leader, had brought. When Russetstar died unexpectedly, however, the few warriors in ShadowClan felt hopeful for the first time in a long while.

    Swampface, soon Swampstar, promised change. He swore to rebuild the strength and numbers of the warriors and bring back the respect for ShadowClan that was long lost. In short, he promised he would bring ShadowClan to greatness once again.

    Now, in present time, greatness and strength feel so far away, and Frostblast wonders if she could ever make anything better.
