It was like someone had set the earth itself on fire. Mounds of burning charcoal littered the ground, with patches of heat crackling from beneath the soil everywhere he looked. The devastation seemed to go on for miles. “...What in the world happened here?” Erik wondered in awe, at once mesmerized and horrified by the sight before him.
“The bleedin’ apocalypse, that’s wot.” Erik turned with a start towards the sound of the answering voice. He had been so wrapped up in the devastation that he hadn’t even noticed the man standing not two feet away from him. “You look like ya’ ‘ad a run in with an ‘ole ‘oard o’ monsters,” the man said, looking Erik up and down. “What ‘appened to ya’, mate?”Or—Follow Erik on a journey of self-(re)discovery as he plays catchup with a world that seems to have moved on without him.

Summary
You know how American Superhero comics have millions of adaptations, reboots and spinnoffs? Well, I thought I'd try my hand at making one of those types of things for Miraculous--and by that I mean I made a rough script with a whole lot of lose ideas floating around for a sort of theoretical adaptation for MLB:
Basic premise is that Marinette has been visiting her Great-Uncle Fu since she was little and learning all about the legends behind the mystical miraculous jewels he carries around with him. One day the missing butterfly miraculous re-emerges, and it's up to Marinette to stop them. Using her knowledge of the Miraculous jewels and the help of friends and family, she embarks on a journey to reclaim the butterfly miraculous and save Paris. Naturally, she must also do all this while balancing school, hobbies, friends and her other responsibilities in her civilian life.
Also featuring--New miraculous powers, new heroes, new relationships and new akumas, as well as ideas from the original show with a new look! If any of that sounds interesting to you, and you want to go on this thought experiment journey with me, then strap in and stick around. This could... take a while.

She opens her mouth to respond, but he stops her.

Valerie and Danny are kidnapped by the GIW due to their anomalous ectoplasmic radiation readings. In the lab, they're put trough testing to determine whether or not they still count as human. Danny struggles with the cost of keeping his secrets to avoid hurting Valerie, while Valerie grapples with the real ramifications of her suit’s technology and how ghostly she's becoming. Together they must both face their truths if they want to get out alive.
