[Inspired by Wish Me Away] Chat Noir betrayed her. It wasn’t something Marinette ever expected, they were partners, friends, so this betrayal hurt more than she could have ever put in words. Finding out he was Adrien only added to that pain, to that betrayal. Watching him give Hawkmoth, his father, her earrings was like something out of a nightmare. Gabriel now had the power to make The Wish and Marinette wanted to hold out hope he could be reasoned with or that her team would realize something was wrong but there was no hope in her heart. Not anymore.

Based off the AU by Ozmav, and inspired by paticularlygeeky ! I love Lizzie okay and i love her fic Little Ladybird.
Marinette is dealing with knowing Adrien is Chat while on the school trip to Gotham, while also having to deal with more of Lila's lies. It wasn't enough to turn everyone against her she guessed, apparently Lila was set on making sure Marinette felt no happiness. But Marinette makes friends in Gotham, friends that are willing to throw down for her. Out of all things she could have guessed would happen on this trip, falling in love was not one of them. She also didn't expect to reveal her identity to the Batfamily, she also didn't expect to find out their identities either.
Meanwhile Adrien is trying to figure out how to make Marinette his finally, one way or another.

Chat Noir betrayed her. He took her earrings during their battle, she never even saw it coming, but she did see his look of surprise and his look of awe and love. And yet not one apologetic look was given. She watched as he became Adrien. She begged Gabriel not to make the wish. But he did. Every wish has a price. Gabriel made the wish not only for him but for Adrien, they both needed to pay a price. Marinette didn't expect she would be part of that price.
Tikki and Plagg found a loophole of sorts, one where Marinette would get a better life. One where no one from her past life would find her. They wished for her to be placed somewhere she would be loved and cared for. It worked, what they didn't expect was for their Guardian to be placed in Gotham...or for her to be barely a year old. At least she was transported to what seemed like a nice place. Wayne Manor, huh? -

Lila had made good on her promise to make sure Marinette lost her friends. She didn't do it by antagonizing Marinette, she didn't convince everyone Marinette was a bully, no, Lila Rossi made everyone forget about Marinette Dupain-Cheng. They replaced her with a liar, with Fool's Gold, and even though it hurt she knew she had to move on. They replaced her, so it only seemed fitting she replace them so she could heal and be happy.
They truly didn't know what they lost till it was gone.
