Kenma would never admit to being emotionally affected by anything, but some (Bokuto) would say he was a bit paranoid when it came to making sure everything was exactly the way it was supposed to be. A war between the three yakuza syndicates populating Tokyo definitely wasn’t the way things were supposed to be, and that being the least of Kenma’s problems was somehow even worse.

He’s used to people showing up at their house at all times of the day. Some with just a shallow cut and others on Death’s doorstep. It’s easier to come to the Oikawas and far cheaper than chancing a visit to the district’s Capitol assigned doctor. At least with the Oikawas, the sick are guaranteed a healer who cares even if they can’t always provide the means the Capitol easily can.
“Nature’s first green is gold,” he starts to read, only to freeze when he hears a familiar voice breathlessly ask, “Where’s Oikawa?”
The response is a loud shush and then the ruckus quickly dwindles. He takes the steps down to the kitchen two at a time and what he sees makes his blood run cold.
Iwa lying on his stomach across their kitchen table, held down by two of his crew-mates, moaning in pain.
The one where Iwaizumi experiences the sting of a Peacekeeper's whip and Oikawa nearly loses his mind.

She watches with wide eyes as Iwaizumi lifts Oikawa’s hands to his upturned mouth, brushes his lips over the backs of his knuckles, eyes never leaving the other’s face. Oikawa’s cheeks tint a beautiful light pink and he smiles widely at his best friend, the corners of his eyes curling up into crescents.
Outside, she can hear the sound of the ancient church piano reverberating through the cathedral.
Their hands grasp at each other’s shoulders, each other’s wrists, and they finally manage to find one another when their fingers twine together and drop down to their thighs. They begin to breathe in sync, still murmuring something that Hitoka cannot hear over the echo of the piano music, its melody haunting and loud and vibrations somehow shaking the walls of the ancient church.
