Summary
Jayce loves working at the pastry shop. He loves the early hours when he arrives, with flour dust and sugar lingering in the air. He loves the routine: whisk against porcelain, the gentle clinking of forks against plates, the hum of the espresso machine. Heck, he doesn’t even mind when cheesy “Even the Nights are better” by Air Supply starts quietly playing through the speakers.
Jayce enjoys it even more when Viktor visits. His former class mate and partner in chemistry class. He enjoys it just a little less when his hands, so steady with piping bags and porcelain cups, forget themselves. He overfills the coffee. Drops a fork. When he walks toward Viktor’s table and catches his foot over— nothing at all.
When Viktor smiles at this all troubles are forgotten though. If he ever did.

Summary
