viktor feels a finger crawl towards his entrance, rubbing, kneading, almost invading, making him wet. He lets him.

“So, you push it down. You hide it away and spend your time sucking up to rich investors and the other councilors, trying to win favor and gain attention so you don’t have to think about how much losing Viktor is going to destroy you.”

Attempting to further bond with his adopted son, Naph, Viktor purchases annual passes to Piltover Aquarium. It just so happens that when summer comes around that they follow the trend of bringing in mermaid performers--or in this case, a merman. It just so happens that the merman in gorgeous and charming even through the glass and Viktor finds himself completely enchanted.
He doesn't think much of it all when the season ends--that is, until he finds himself by happenstance at the Progress City Renaissance Faire advertising live mermaids. Then, he finds himself thinking about it quite a bit.

The room is hollowed out without the bed, without Jayce, a peek into an alternate timeline where Jayce became lost to him, and it's a knife to the gut when he's already bleeding. He gasps as if he's been struck, and then he's muffling little whimpering cries into his hands, relief and terror and grief all mixing into something sharp and painful in his stomach.
He should call Ximena, he thinks, desperately searching for something logical to do, something to focus on. He should email Heimerdinger, explain why he'd left so suddenly, text Sky a thank you for the ride.
He sits, and he waits.
Or, a car accident leaves Jayce disabled and Viktor learns the importance of vulnerability.
