Summary
Through the swirling, suffocating haze of panic, Ren is only tangentially aware of his surroundings; the wall at his back, the cold linoleum floor of this abandoned classroom. He presses his palms into it, desperate to feel something other than fear. It hasn’t been this bad in a while—not since November, really—this choking feeling creeping into his chest out of nowhere, sucking the air out of his lungs. He got used to fighting; even now, he wishes he could take a dagger to this problem. He wishes Arsene were still here.

Or, after the end of everything, Ren's brain finally comes to a screeching halt, only for the weight of the past year to crash down on his shoulders.
