The wall shakes beneath them, each individual cobblestone quivering in tune with Tara's emotions.

Jason comes across a familiar unfamiliar face.

“That’s me,” Jason chirps, just breathy and ditzy enough to not come across as performative.
Jinx. A person or thing that brings bad luck. Jason’s idea of an inside joke, one that these meatheads will never catch wise to.
The bouncer waits several stretching moments, just trying to up the intimidation factor.

The cold is fine because the bed is still warm, the thick blankets of the nest trapping the heat. The bedroom door is open now—open because Roy walked out it. That’s fine too. He doesn’t need the meager protection it offered. He’s still the Red Hood, and a fully capable adult besides, even if he feels about as weak as a kitten right now.
The cold is fine and the open, unprotected entrance is fine and everything is fine.
