Summary
In a quiet autumn park in South Korea, Danielle Marsh meets the mysterious Kang Hae Rin, a girl who at first glance is withdrawn and lonely, and who would not imagine that her life would take such a sudden turn.
As they begin to see each other regularly and Danielle gains her trust, more and more things are revealed about Hae Rin's situation and what torments her in her daily life. Together, they would go through many moments of worry, pressure and uncertainty, until finally the butterflies migrate in autumn and discover that even the most fragile wings can lift the biggest dreams.

These are centers that also serve as residences where individuals are given one hundred days to find a partner, and if they don't, they have two options: spend their entire life in a romantic relationship with someone chosen by the department judges or be executed, and Danielle's time has now come. During her stay, she will experience moments of happiness and sorrow alongside Kim Min Ji and Hanni Pham, girls she met who became a part of her and who, above all, will give her highs and lows, laughter and tears together, showing her that even at the end, not everything is lost yet.

There are no obviously grandiose events, and yet it feels that way. The pauses, the silences, and the stillness weigh heavily in a good way, while only one summer remains, slowly passing by. It's good for a short read. :)

For the most part, it has an absurd (in a good way) and quite relatable narrative. The dynamic between the two and how they express themselves is appealing, especially given the circumstances in which they find themselves and remain close. The space in Yizhuo's unit feels so intimate... and Aeri's letter after she leaves is very sweet. It's a light read for the early hours of the morning, where it's as if everything and nothing happens at the same time. ^^

It's a story that's both heartwarming and heartbreaking. The ending... it simply left me with a heavy heart. That's why I don't want to read it again; once was enough to leave me overwhelmed. 😵💫

It's very lovely and almost everyday, were it not for the fantastical element of the mermaids. I don't remember much, as I read it quite a while ago, But Ji Min's confusion, and yet still taking care of Aeri in her bathtub, even with instant noodles... is definitely endearing. This was a breath of fresh air. :)

Despite all this time, it remains the first fic that left me with a great weight on my heart, which only grew larger with each reread. Even so, don't be afraid of the constant anguish this story puts you through; it's absolutely worth it, on a fanfiction scale. 😓😅
