Tony startles back out of his own head, blushing like a moron, and he glances over at the girls and Peter, seeing that Peter is still carrying them through some kind of elaborate story instead of falling asleep, which Tony thought he’d be heading towards, with all of this manic activity.
“You can’t judge my face journeys while you sit there and wear my son’s Mickey ears,” Tony says, raising his eyebrows at him.
“You? Judging fashion choices?” Ben tips the hat more forward on his head. “Very brave, Tony.”

“Don’t worry, pet” Vernon said, his nasty grin triumphant, “I’ll leave him someplace so far away that those freaks will never trace him back to us. There’s an institute up north, for these- these hopeless cases and whatnot - St Brutus's Secure Centre for Boys. I’ll leave him there, and then we can get back to our nice, normal life”.Or, the one where Harry doesn't attend Hogwarts in first year but finds his way to the wizarding world anyway, and this changes everything.

Summary
When the Ministry informs Harry that they are coming to destroy his wand for defending himself from the dementors that attack him in Little Whinging, Harry knows there's only one path left available to him. He can survive on his own. He knows how. It won't even be that hard. And being on the run in his animagus form makes him a feel a little closer to Sirius, anyway.
At least, he thinks so, until he's picked up by a pet store, sold to a classmate, and brought right back to Hogwarts where the state of things is so bad that he's actually glad he's expelled.
