“Hello, Daniel,” a lovely accented voice says from behind him.
Daniel represses a shiver. He doesn’t even get cold anymore.
“Isn’t this nice?” he says as he turns. “I call, I leave messages, I look for you everywhere, and here you are… Cleaning graves a new hobby?”

Lestat touches the tip of Daniel’s nose with a finger. “You’re the very first thing that has ever known him, Daniel Molloy. That feeling? That fucking fish hook around your ribs? That loneliness that is so vast the ocean appears shallow? There’s the gremlin.” He smiles, and Daniel actually thinks it’s genuine. “I never wanted to manage him. But I suppose that’s why he made you.”
(Daniel adjusts to being dead, goes on tour with Lestat, and spends nights in art museums with Louis. Armand is very Armand about it all).
