Except the pet is no monster, the witch is a girl with startlingly familiar eyes, and Daeron finds himself faced with a dragon long thought to be dead.

That said Argelle Baratheon’s grandmother was a Targaryen, so it's already in the blood, and blood has a way of demanding its due. Perhaps Argelle has the typical Targaryen madness because she remembers vaguely a past life where Westeros was fiction.

Neither party enjoyed their marriage but at least one of them wanted to make something out of their misery. Baelor Targaryen took the marriage better than Daenys Blackfyre did. Until then, they had to endure each other's presence while also trying to hide their growing affections.
