Summary
A thrill crept up Lynette’s spine each time she’d sneak out of her room to find Arlecchino while everyone else was fast asleep, their nightly encounters made ever more risque by the fact that just one thin wall separated them from Lyney and Freminet. It was almost guilt-inducing just how much it turned her on that the two of them were fooling around like teenagers under her brothers’ noses, having to make love in hushed silence and in the dark. It felt more intimate this way; more encompassing. Like this secret, this love that she and Father shared was more real than ever.
But this happy fantasy had shattered when Arlecchino had walked through the door of their motel bedroom that night, and Lynette’s eyes landed on the warped, limp hand hanging by their side.
