Everyone had called him a cold, uncaring person. Perhaps it was true, but Edega knew that no other person could be able to advance healthcare in a way that helped everyone. Simply holding your hands together and waiting for a miracle to happen wouldn't save lives. Only ruthless determination could.
So what if it meant that everyone he cared about would leave, one by one? It wouldn't matter to Edega. It just meant that he, and he only would have to take on that great sacrifice. And, for him, he was perfectly fine with that. Unfortunately for his plans, the one Edega believed (and hoped) had long abandoned him returned to his life.
How much of our lives can be throw in away in the belief something better for all will come out of it?

An exploration of Edega, before and after the events of Rhythm Doctor, and why he chose to take the path he is now. And, just maybe, a chance for him to figure out how to start thinking with a mindset that doesn't involve offering himself as a grand sacrifice.

What does it mean to live? We all ask that question to ourselves, yet we typically discard it as a discussion for a later time. But the Wanderer could not ignore the question. It had to be answered, and he would look for any insight for a potential resolution. Follow the Wanderer's journey as he meets multiple, eccentric individuals, all of whom offer their own sense of purpose, even if they don't actually answer his question.
(The short story related to C.I., and the struggles he faces to define himself against the one who used to reside in his body.)

Yan Vismok. One of the Many Messengers of the Index. Ultimately, despite his relatively high position within the syndicate, he is one of many cogs in the wheel that is The City. Like all those cogs, Yan truly can not find the freedom that could redeem his humanity.
Yet, despite it all, he tries to fight against it. Prove that he has his own will. Even when everything seems to fight against that belief, even when the secret of the Prescripts is revealed to him, even when a calm and light voice whispers inside his ears, Yan does not wish to falter. Not when the proof is right within his grasp.
So what if a God had chosen his fate the moment he was born? Then what would be the point of such a river of destiny?

Summary
No one expected the year that the newly-budding Library began its great step towards expansion into the City, nor could anyone have predicted how rapidly it would come to grow. Block by block, life by life, it took all in its path and used every last life that ended within its walls to expand itself. And sitting at the peak of this spire of knowledge sat its ruler; The Librarian of Death, who watched over all that her domain consumed.
And yet, even within this nest of knowledge and death, life still continued on, as with anywhere else in the City.
And among the life that persisted, there were the children; abandoned to the Library like the chicks of cuckoo birds into any strange nest.
Here we follow tale of one child who has no name, one of the many who carves out a life within the Library, who would grow into her own within this nest, and see what journey leads her to becoming the end of the Librarian of Death's reign of thirteen years.Series
