Percy turned to him sharply, his eyes wide and his lips parted. Year? What year was it? Why would Chiron ask such a thing? Time travel wasn’t a thing, right? Please, for gods’ sake, someone tell Percy time travel wasn’t a thing!
Annabeth squirmed a little uneasily. She looked skeptical. “2005,” she replied.
Oh, gods, no.
“No…” Percy shook his head, voice smaller than he wanted it to be. “It’s 2008.”

Annabeth and Percy get attacked and Annabeth wakes up without her memories of the last four years, which would have been fine had it not actually been true because NOTHING is fine now! Not with Annabeth looking at Percy like she can't stand him, or like she might stick a knife through his gut the first chance she gets.
It's exactly what he needs after the war just ended.
