Yuna actually jumped at the sound. “Sorry, sorry, I'm sorry,” Shane said quickly, composing himself.
“It's just, that's not funny, why is Rozanov actually here, who am I married to?”

Shane wakes up in the hospital with no memory of how he got there. And it was also really confusing as to why Ilya is there when they were supposed to be a secret. And then he learns that he had a severe head injury and doesn't remember the last few years, which includes him and Ilya getting engaged. But Ilya is patient and would do anything for Shane, including getting him to fall in love with him again.

More blood, his mind supplies rather unhelpfully.
He was driving after dark, but he shouldn’t have been. He wasn’t supposed to be. They had all night together, so why is he here?

Shane inhales sharply as his mind slowly fills in the gaps in his memory. They fought. Ilya told him to leave. Shane did.
