No one ever spoke of what happens after. After the battles are all over and the tired soldiers return home, wide-eyed and jumping at odd sounds. They don't speak of the graves. The endless rows of turned earth or the small stones that are the only reminders of those never recovered. A place for mothers to weep and friends to question why. No one speaks of the all consuming grief. Waking up each morning knowing that things are not quite the same and never will be again.
Two young adults with very different backgrounds are both learning to navigate in a world torn by the fourth war. How does someone move forward when everything they know is fundamentally different.

Summary
Love for an Uchiha was a dangerous thing. All consuming. Their very lives were tied to the object of their affections. He had seen his clansmen fall to it. Driven mad by it. Choking on their deathbeds as roots filled their lungs and bloody petals fell from their lips. Madara had sworn off love. But he watched love cross the face of Senju Tobirama and felt his heart stutter in his chest. Knowing that it had found him all the same and knowing what it meant, he only hoped he would have enough time to put his affairs in order before the flowers wrapped around his heart until it could no longer beat on its own.

Tobirama has always had a problem with his scent.
Or rather—everyone else has had a problem with it.
When they were at war, it had been a significantly lesser point of contention. Not many had the time, nor the energy, to focus on how a shinobi smelled among the putrid tang of blood and rot that so often overtook the battlefield.
Toka had even called it a positive, once. “It must be quite jarring,” she had said, “To look over and see your clan slaughtered, surrounded by the smell of vanilla and caramelized sugar.”

Summary
When Yusami finds out she's been dropped into the Naruto universe, she doesn't know if she should feel relieved or cheated to have missed out on all of the cool ninja stuff.
"Both" she decides as she looks down at her favorite customer and wonders how she can sneak extra veggies into his bag without him noticing, "Definitely both."
Or: a self-insert becomes a simple grocer in Konohagakure and decides that if no one else is going to adopt the baby protagonist, then it's free real estate.
Featuring: a civilian woman beating Danzou at his own game, Naruto finding the love he's always deserved, and a hefty amount of ANBU operatives wondering if the Uchiha are accepting volunteers for that little coup/revolution.
