WOW! Just Wow. I'm frothing at the mouth with the undertone of religious iconography and implementation. Just the way the character's speak ugh I could picture this whole fic in the style of medieval book. Absolutely incredible.

There is a café down at the end of the road in a little town in the Scottish countryside, a meandering hour from the coast, that does not seem like much from the outside. The building itself is an old one, the lights and bright, cheery colors from inside not quite managing to disguise its age. The owners are...peculiar. English. Each a bit frightening, in their own way, on first glance.
But the café is never empty. The chill of the Scottish winds never manages to breach the doors. Not a single patron ever feels the sting of melancholy, even if they nurse a cuppa alone. They say the place is a cure for loneliness. They say if you tell the one with the scars about your nightmares, he'll take them from you.
And it certainly helps, they say, that the tea is never cold and the cakes are the best in the county.
All that, and you can forgive the other kinds of stories.

Jon’s eyes skirted over Martin’s face, not quite settling there. He wasn’t able to see him. But it was clear Jon could tell that something was there.
Martin stared at the tired misery on his face slowly giving way to muted fear and, yet, the slightest flicker of hope.
“Hello?” Jon whispered in the space between them. His eyes traced the space Martin sat without really seeing him, a furrow appearing between his brows. After a moment, Jon bit his lip, and whispered, hesitantly, “Martin?”
Martin slowly straightened in his seat, entranced by that expression on Jon’s face. He was clearly wary, tired. But there was that hint of hope around his eyes and the set of his mouth. And he was so, devastatingly lonely Martin could smell it.
Martin wanted to eat him whole.
