Rated E for language, graphic depictions of violence, dark themes and shameless smut! Readers please be advised!

CHAPTER TIMELINE UPDATE- I am aiming to have this story complete by the middle of 2026, but unfortunately the chapters will fluctuate slightly in terms of posting. Here's the new schedule: Epilogue Part 1: Aiming for End of March 2026. Epilogue Part 2 will be at the end of April (hopefully) but I will update when possible and work/health conflicts calm down :)

    Summary

There was a reason why the bonds were in place. Why they were necessary.
Mages were often the target of violent attacks and the bonds made sure that the protectors had no choice but to do their job. If Elias got hurt, Peter felt every moment of it. If Elias died… Well, there was an obvious consequence...
It was a flawed system. Very flawed and yet, it was the way things were done… The way things had been done for hundreds of years.

Mages are some of the most powerful people in this world has to offer, especially those of this city. That, however, did not make them invincible. Every mage had a protector, one that would be tied to them until the end of their life by an unbreakable bond. This was not what Peter Lukas had wanted. But it's not like he'd had much of a choice.
    or
A fantasy AU in which all mages have protectors, tied together by an unbreakable bond.

T/Z, post-11x02. "You will tell yourself: we don't know if we will ever hear from her again. You will tell yourself: let it go. You will tell yourself: I can't." Tony-centric grappling with a Ziva-less year— and the truth behind the adage, "If you love someone, let them go, and if they love you back, they will soon find their way back to you again."

    Summary

A remarkable "braided novel" of 8 stories and novellas which Macedon wrote in tandem with the equally remarkable Peg Robinson. Too sprawling (in the grand sense) in scale and reach to reduce to a mere synopsis; let us just say that this is Voyager unfettered and red in tooth and claw, such as Paramount with its nice tidy pander-to-the-demographics mentality could only dream of producing. Faith, community, alienation and belonging, honest conflict between Maquis and Starfleet, and the realities of life far from home and safety. These are just a few of the things Macedon and Peg handled with discretion and grace.

From Macedon: I recently learned that my friend of many years, Peg, passed away in her sleep September 3, 2024. If you were or are a fan of the Talking Stick series and Peg's fiction, please think softly on her and light some sage or tobacco in her memory for the wonderful stories she gave to us.
