Summary
The man- now unmistakably Eddie Munson- opened his mouth as if to say something, choosing to instead launch himself at Steve. There was a second where Steve thought he was being attacked, knocked off kilter, but then Eddie’s arms were around him, burying his face in Steve’s hair. Half-collapsing beneath the weight, Steve guided them both to the floor, pulling Eddie closer instinctively. He felt thinner than he used to, the skin of his back littered with scars.
“Eddie,” Steve murmured disbelievingly, holding him as he shook like a leaf in Steve’s arms. “You’re not dead.”
Eddie laughed, despite the trembling. He clutched onto Steve’s shirt like a lifeline.
“Yeah,” he managed, voice high and vulnerable. “Sorry to disappoint.”

Summary
Despite what everyone else thinks, Steve Harrington is not stupid. He cares, he notices. Steve always shows up because so one else will.
Enter Eddie Munson.
So when Steve notices how seamlessly Eddie fits in after everything he can't help but be a little jealous.
Because why is Eddie so good with the kids, and Robin, and reducing Steve to awkward chatter?
And most importantly why is Steve so jealous of it all?

Summary
Steve has to prove a point, there's nothing wrong with boys kissing boys. Even if proving it requires him to kiss Eddie in front of everyone. He refuses to have any of his kids be homophobic.

El puts up mistletoe at the Christmas party hoping to see a Christmas tradition. She'd meant it for Hopper and Joyce, but when Steve and Eddie are caught under the mistletoe, she's confused why they don't have to kiss. Steve doesn't mind proving that boys can kiss under the mistletoe too.
