Orpheus is unnaturally angered by the idea.
"This was my mistake, for thinking someone of your level could read between the lines. I would be surprised if you could read at all, Campbell." Norton boils at the sudden comment. Familiar heat spreading about his face. Orpheus knew exactly how to get him where it hurt.
Unlike the usual, though, Orpheus has not fled.
Fists balled to his sides, he remains square in front of Norton's door. As if awaiting the outburst Norton would usually give him.
He is quickly realizing this is not a normal line of bantering.

After receiving hope from a position opening in the Melodis estate, Gatto stumbles right into the hands of D.M. himself. His questions remain unanswered, and at every turn he must fight to figure out more of the Melodis family. Between it all, his loyalties become hazier with each day he stays. Rosemary haunts his every action - each desire and goal, yet, can he truly trust what she once told him? To recreate "Eternal Beauty" would solve every problem he has, yet, would it not also solve D.M.'s?
Between the strife of his re-introduced addiction, memory loss, and the constant snap of D.M.'s tone; "Gatto" must decide who he really is, and what it is he wants to do. Resolutions that were once so strong crumble and as the time moves past, his reason for coming grows all the more confusing.
In the end, a phyrric victory is one that cannot be celebrated, for it is nearly equal to defeat.

Nightmare, rigid with his rules and timing, holds a particular mischievousness about him. When he arrives an hour ahead of time, Frederick must subject him to the man's newest form of a "questions game".
Whether Nightmare leaves satiated, or with questions he must face himself, is unknown.

There was … more that Aesop wanted. Things that once rarely effected him, suddenly caused him wavering bouts of heat in the midday; Victor spinning him in the kitchen, the ease of which he hefted boxes from the attic, the display of his arms when he rolled his sleeves up. All of it was ordinary, nothing worth a fuss over.
Still, when Victor so easily pushed him from one edge of the bed to the other, he wished it was in any manner but domestic fluff. Should he only ask, he knows he shall receive. How embarrassing to have to ask.

Can we not even walk ten feet without you talking?” Norton merely huffed, barely intimidated by Aesop’s sharp hiss.

So close to a model world. The people of Sky began doubting the Stars, and Resh sent down a curse. One that would destroy the lands of wheat and gold. This fic is set long before modern Sky is built. Forest is currently an ocean, and Valley and Vault rule the lands. A new danger has been born unto the world.
