“I’m merely ensuring that you’re paying attention,” Ivan says, brushing away an eyelash from underneath his own eyelid. “Many great rulers lose their minds out of boredom, you know. It is a general’s duty to make sure that his king stays on his toes.”
“Is that why you marked down the rice by at least three percent?” Till asks, pinching Ivan’s calf. “I don’t think you need to worry so much about my mind. It sure can’t find a moment’s rest when you’re around.”
Ivan snorts, mouth crumpling. Till thinks of persimmons left to dry out under the sun, pruned with time. Such is the state of Ivan’s smile. “You flatter me, Your Highness. Indeed, it was merely from a place of duty.” A tinge of pink floods his cheeks. “However will you punish me for this overstep? Will it be the ropes or the chains? Or will it be straight to the dungeons this time?”

“We finally meet again.”
Till’s face scrunches up like a crumpled piece of paper. His eyebrows are furrowed and up so high, his eyes squinting yet wide. And his lips curve in all directions. He’s using every single nerve to try to piece together what the fuck is happening.
He flicks his tongue at his bottom lip to wet it. Like when you lick your thumb to grip the page in a book, he’s trying to somehow grip a thought to form.
Till blinks, and then he asks an octave higher than he’s used to, “I’m sorry. Who are you?”
The pretty stranger, Till deems him. Looks at him with this blanched look. His eyes widen, which almost seems impossible with how big they already are. Like a deer in the headlights. And he looks almost sad.
A new student transfers to the small countryside; mysterious, handsome, and claiming to know Till. But Till has no memory or idea of who this stranger is, should he?

Till shoves Ivan into the room and shuts the door, turning to face him. Ivan stares back at him. Up close, like this, Till finds his heart beating faster. In his memories, Ivan looked attractive, but it’s different standing in front of the real thing.
“Can I help you?” Ivan prompts, looking amused.
Till’s stare could bore holes into his skull. He waits, wanting to see if Ivan’s mask will crack, or if he’ll give any indication of recognizing Till. Instead, Ivan simply looks back at him, waiting.
“Nothing?!” Till demands.
“I don’t understand.”
Till inhales sharply, pushing a hand through his hair and wondering how much of a fool he’s willing to make of himself. “Do you have strange . . . dreams?”
Ivan tilts his head to the side. “Do you?”
Till flushes. “I asked you first!”

It’s forty-five minutes until kickoff. The sun has passed the peak of noon but still shines brightly in the cloudless sky, baking those beneath it without mercy. The bleachers slowly fill with spectators, the clamor of small talk mixed with shouts from hot dog and beer vendors, as music plays loudly over speakers above the field.
Normally, all the noise would make Till uncomfortable, but right now he’s glad for it, as it muffles his already stifled groans, as he stands beneath the bleachers, gripping one of the metal bars above him tightly. On his knees in front of him is the star quarterback, model student, and beloved class president, sucking Till’s dick like it’s his last meal on Earth.

The first time Till had the chance to escape he turned back, leaving Ivan under the falling stars. The second time Till had the chance to escape he ran forward, grasping at Mizi’s hand. At home, it seemed everything could be a coincidence, the identicality of every room, her eight adopted sisters who sat at a range between two years older and two years younger than Sua herself, who all had round eyes and dark hair, who were all always dressed in thick satin frills, and whose birthdays fell in succession during the last three months of the year. It was arbitrary yet surgical, the precision with which their mother decided what was worth loving in her children.
Sua would try to deal with this suffocating sameness in small reminders that she could be different, if only in the length of her fingernails, the skew of her smile, the undisciplined shrill of her voice when her sides were tickled. The truth is, she learned these small triumphs from Mizi who already had many strange enthusiasms as a child which gave her a personhood, such as running in circles until she fell over and coming to rest against Sua to mumble with an unwavering passion about nonsense until she made herself break into a fit of giggles.
Every train eventually reaches its destination. Sua has spent her life convinced she could always hear its encroaching whistle chasing her.

For the most part, though, knowing what one's dynamic is is entirely obsolete. The concept of dynamics, of Alpha and Omega, are all but bred out of existence long before Ivan was captured from the slums and brought here to be taught civilization — that is, a civilization of a sort. Ivan isn't even that well-read, given that he doesn't have much time out of his other studies, but he discovered through forbidden texts that most humans that are alive right now are Beta thanks to the Aliens' meddling.
It really didn't matter.
That's what Ivan told himself, anyway, until his dynamic presented.

This is probably gonna be really bad. I'm sorry if i mischaracterize or if the characters are OOC. I'm not a good writer, and this is me purely just projecting my own problems onto my boy Ivan. Till will come in later and comfort him because I feel bad doing this to Ivan without being nice to him so I want him to get comforted. This is going to have depictions of body image issues, restrictive eating disorders, and binge eating. This will also have some self harm (hair yanking).
