Peter’s holding the camera, aimed at him, and spinning so the gas station behind him can be captured in its full glory. Tony is leaning against the car and Harley’s walking out of the station shop, a large bag of Doritos in his hands.
“We’re on a road trip,” he announces. "Mr Stark found out about an Iron Man museum in South Carolina, so we’re spending Spring Break on the road. We asked Pepper if she wanted to come, but she said she'd rather die than stand in a room dedicated to all things Iron Man. So… We all have our ideas of fun.”

Summary
May Parker had died two weeks before.
And now MJ's Aasimir Ranger was dead on the ground, in the middle of D&D combat. In Peter’s mind he could see her, the Morningstar embedded in her stomach, wings lifeless, bow and arrow at her side, forgotten.
For a moment, the image was replaced with May. Corpse strewn across the road, the car speeding off into the distance; blood running down from her nose, eyes unseeing, staring into the sky above. He wondered what her last thought had been.
Peter blinked and it was Finn again. A Dungeons and Dragons character. MJ. Not May.
OR Peter moves on, somehow.

Summary
Harley had said something three days earlier. It was offhanded and immediately forgotten by him, while Peter continued to think about it for the next seventy-two hours.
“Sorry, Parker – it’s family dinner night.”
Family dinner night.
And family, apparently, didn’t include Peter Parker.
So, maybe he’d been spending the past three days passive aggressively talking about all the things Mr Stark and he had in common that Harley couldn’t relate to. Maybe he’d been pulling Iron Man out and specifically searching for danger that he would normally avoid or leave to the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen or some other vigilante. Maybe he’d been solely focused on giving a metaphorical middle finger to Harley by having oh so many inside jokes with Mr Stark.
Peter knew it was stupid.

“Your mother didn’t cook store-bought carbonara,” Peter replied, passing over the serving spoon.
“And your mother didn’t teach you to sass your elders,” she said, rolling her eyes.
Peter snorted, and Harley shook his head. “That was a weak your mom joke.”
May served up Harley’s plate. “I’m not going to your mom joke an orphan, Harley. I have taste.”

Deadpool nodded his mask-clad head towards the laundromat opposite. “Ran out of salsa. Figured anything chunky and red would substitute.”
“Dude. Gross.”
“Hardcore,” Ned whispered in his ear.
Peter had a feeling that Deadpool was smiling when he looked back down at the street. “It’s a little to gory for your kind of action, baby boy. Run along now and don’t get your leotard stained.”
Peter blinked at him and ignored the comment. “Who are the targets?”
“Is Peter about to murk some people?” Harley asked.
“Sounds like it,” MJ replied. “Do we call the police on Peter? Or, like, is Spiderman allowed to kill people?”
OR: Spiderman occasionally helps out Deadpool, but he always gets hurt in the process.
