Summary
"For what it's worth, it isn't like the plan with the beach is going that badly, at least yet. It was always gonna be awkward, trying to ease Aftran into the group, and Cassie still thinks this is probably the best way to go about it. Try to make sure everyone can have some fun. Relax.
--
It's true, of course, that they'll have to figure all of this out eventually, and sooner rather than later. But Cassie doesn't want her friends to fight, doesn't want the group to fracture. Not any more than it already has, at least.
--
"We're gonna go talk to the Chee," Jake says, not really looking at Cassie. She can tell he feels bad about leaving early.
"Jake, it's okay," says Cassie. "We should go talk to Tidwell and Illim anyway.""

or, part 3 of my au series in which aftran becomes a human nothlit instead of a whale. featuring conversations on the beach, Tidwell and Illim, coming up with cover stories, the stress of lying to your parents, and more!

"I won't be helping you," Katya says, and tightens her grip on the revolver. She points it straight at Goncharov's heart.
He has the audacity to look shocked, to ask; "What's gotten into you now?"

Summary
"The Yeerk has become a nothlit by now. Aximili knows this, because the other option is her being dead, and he knows Cassie wouldn't have allowed that.
He does not trust Aftran 942. And frankly, he does not understand how Cassie can, how any of the others can. No matter what she claims, she is still a Yeerk, still fundementally a parasite.
Or at least, she'd started her existence as one. Presumed current form notwithstanding."

aka, second part of my aftran human nothlit au!! featuring ax's pov on the situation, difficult conversations, and a whole lot of my favorite animorph (ax) and my favorite side character (aftran) bitching at each other

Summary
"There is a part of Aftran 942 that wants to become a whale. It'd be easy, she thinks, to slip away into the ocean, to leave all of this behind.
To run away, insists another part, the rational part. The part that knows she can't.
--
Now there's an idea. What if she became a human? She hadn't even considered that, but it makes sense. She's used to existing in a human body. And humans can move so freely, and have so many senses, and as a human, it'd be easy to stay in contact with everyone."
or, au where instead of fucking off to be a whale, aftran becomes a human nothlit instead!!!! first part in a series of connected fics i'll do about this, in this one it's just a setup of how this happened

You say yes, and feel the world shift on its head.
You are Anne Savisa Boonchuy. You are dead. You are a god."

“Jonathan Sims.”
Sims. Jonathan. That’s him, it has to be. It’s his voice on that tape, coming from the speaker of that tape recorder, replaying the name in his head over and over again, even as the tape goes on about an alleged haunting in Soho.

Summary
Vignettes on humanity and identity.
There’s a thought experiment, the teletransportation paradox, that Jon’s always been fond of. It asks the question: if a teletransporter can transport a person to, say, Mars, by destroying their body on Earth and recreating it using the resources on Mars, then is the teletransporter teleporting someone, or killing them, and making an exact recreation. Same memories, same appearance, same everything, how could you know if you aren’t the same.
