“What!?” Barry asks excitedly.
“Wow!” Diana exclaims. “Most congratulations!” Hal and Oliver clap and whoop, and Clark smiles in appreciation.
“Ohmygosh,” Barry continues, “I was just saying the other day that you two would figure it out! Hal, you owe me twenty—”
“—To Lois Lane," Bruce interrupts, still staring out the window.
Bruce’s interruption has the entire table falling silent, faces genuinely falling, mouths snapping closed. Clark doesn’t really understand why anyone would need the clarification.

“Here goes nothing.” Tim cleared his throat and flicked on the communicator. “Hello Bats. Your new dispatcher is reporting in.”Several moments of long silence greeted him. Tim shifted and eyed the mic icon, showing it was indeed on, the team had heard him.
Finally, an eerily chipper voice picked up. “Well, well, well. They told us we might get new blood, I wasn’t expecting you to sound so sweet. What’s your name, darling?”
“You can call me Tim.”
“Tim,” the new voice was low and angry. Red Hood’s icon lit up. “You expect us to believe that’s your real name? Tim? You sound like a fucking office worker.”

The metallic crash didn’t immediately register as real. At first, she thought it was a part of the weather—a particularly vicious gust rattling the old fire escape, or a piece of tin roofing torn loose and flung against her balcony rail. But then came the second sound: a raw, human exhale, sharp and guttural, and unmistakably close. Evelyn blinked, set down her glass, and leaned forward, squinting through the rain-glossed darkness. The fire escape’s upper landing, usually deserted and grimy, now hosted a slumped, broad-shouldered shape wedged awkwardly against the railing.
