Captain Jiwoong of the Royal Guards was happy with the way he led his life. In his mind he had it all.
For all that Hanbin still wanted more for him and Jiwoong had never been able to say no to his prince. An order from the king himself had Jiwoong set out to sea to pick up a foreign prince. My mind kept returning to this scene as I finished Wind and Truth, and I felt it needed to be written since we never saw it in the final chapters of the novel.

Summary
A casual conversation between Shallan and Adolin reveals to Kaladin that one of his past masters is his best friends’ friend. Suffice to say, he does not, reasonably, take it well. Adolin and Shallan fret until Kaladin finally breaks under the reminder of every small insensitive comment from them and blows over them.

The fight between the trio that was long coming, and very much needed.
