Elphaba groans to herself. Pushes her glasses more firmly up the bridge of her nose.
How? How is she going to survive here for any length of time with such a privileged, pushy, self-centred, jabbering roommate? Elphaba still can’t shake the pink from her vision. Perhaps it’s imprinted in her brain. She’s permanently scarred. Peachy, girlish, sunset hues resting forevermore behind her eyelids.Ugh, it just digs under her skin, somehow. Galinda sniffed, lifting her nose indignantly. “I was saying that her wardrobe is an eyesore,” she said haughtily. “The rolled-up sleeves are entirely unnecessary, as are those ridiculous forearms.”
Pfannee frowned. “What’s wrong with her forearms?”
Galinda floundered for a moment, searching for the words. “Well, they’re just... too defined. Who needs forearms like that unless you’re chopping wood?” She tried to sound dismissive, but her voice wavered just slightly as Elphaba reached up to adjust her collar, the movement causing her biceps to flex beneath the tight fabric.
Or: It’s not Galinda’s fault Elphaba is so utterly distracting
