Summary
After three days of not getting any word out of Harry about what she was up to, Umbridge had her crony toss her into a high-security cell in Azkaban.
“Some time with the Dementors ought to loosen her tongue,” she said to the Snatcher who was with her.
Some time.
Some time turned into years.

“I’ve been searching for you everyday for three years,” Voldemort said, his nose flaring. “And this whole time you were here. In Azkaban. Tell me who brought you here so I can skin them alive.”
Or, the one where Harry gets captured and goes missing during the Horcrux hunt and the only two people who know where she is are dead. Three years pass before Voldemort finds her in Azkaban.
Only, instead of killing her on sight, he has a different goal. He nurses his Horcrux back to health. He develops a weird obsession with taking care of her.
Harry is not prepared for this flip in character and she is even less prepared for whatever it is inside him that fills her with warmth, after being so cold for so long.

Summary
Harry Potter has little to no hope of ending Lord Voldemort. And according to the prophecy, she's the only one who can.
When an opportunity arises in which she can settle the matter that doesn't involve killing him or being killed—Harry seizes it.
A marriage bond is the only loophole they can think of that could get both of them out of the prophecy. It's binding magic is ancient and powerful. Powerful enough to override that little line that said 'either must die at the hand of the other'. Now, neither can harm the other.
Besides, it's not like she imagined there would ever be a happily ever after for her where she marries someone she loves and has a family. The costs of this war are too great and her guilty conscience won't let her sit around any longer.
