Though it quickly turns out that the intruder was more a fugitive, running away from the very monsters the admin hated with his entire being.Walking a thin line between truth and lie Grian tries his best to cling to the new safe haven to heal up and hide from his captors, making more connections than he had preferred.
Sadly the Watchers had their own plans with their little disobedient experiment. -

Saparata had only seen the storms between the islands once, when the ever-present tug on his soul brought him to the water’s edge, into the waves. He was knee deep in the water when Ish materialized before him, blue eyes sharp as they swept over Saparata’s mist-soaked form.
“What are you doing?”
Saparata was fairly sure Ish knew, but he entertained the question anyway, the dull buzz of pain in his bones subsiding ever so slightly. It was the tamest the ache had ever been, only a portion of the all-consuming burning he sometimes felt.
“Looking,” he replied mildly.
Ish hummed, “Looking.”
“For my soulmate,” Saparata said, and then laughed a little.

The further you are from your soulmate, the more it hurts. Saparata didn't feel pain until Pandora, and then it was so constant he nearly forgot what it was supposed to mean.
The pain of betrayal drives him to Yggdrasil, and the lack of pain in the Covenant keeps him there, for a while.

You’ll never see their face. Unspoken things happen to those who do.Saparata rolled his eyes as he read his story. Sidefall always had a knack for the dramatics in his writing.
Or Saps ends up on Island One. Written almost entirely from his perspective, beginning from the moment he sets foot on the island, ending up as the "witch" of Yggdrasil. This is my interpretation of how things could've been different using a prompt I found on Tumblr (link in notes).

He wakes up in an entirely different world—one ruled by heroes, villains, and vigilantes alike. A place governed by systems and organizations so intricate they run deeper than anything he has ever known. The people here are familiar in the worst possible way: faces he recognizes, now hidden behind masks and titles.

The whole of the Favela district appeared to be on fire; many emergency vehicles crowded the streets. Cellbit looked to the sky, the dark night was filled with beautiful stars, but up above there were two men fighting. Hero Cucurucho and Villain Cucurevil. Cucurucho sent fire balls in Cururevil’s direction, which the villain expertly dodged. Screaming was all that could be heard, the cries of many children, women and men were carried through the night. Suddenly a fireball crashed into the side of their house. Their parents' room collapsing in on itself. Bagi wailed. Tubbo gasped. Cellbit was stunned. The three children rushed over to their parents’ bodies, Bagi cradling her mother in her arms, begging for her to wake up. Cellbit rushed over to his father and began performing CPR, but it didn't work. Tubbo just stood there, staring.

It's a tradition to burn down a Woodland Mansion at every start of a season. Only this time it's not only inhabited by mindless mobs. There is actually an uncorrupted Player Allay there.
Scar and Cub don't really know how to feel about Grian when they help to rescue him. If they'd come just a few weeks later Grian would have become a Vex. And the reminder of what they lost confronts them with feelings they would have liked to forget.
Grian, on the other hand, really just wants to enjoy his newfound freedom and do what Allays are supposed to do - gathering things and causing mischief. Which is hard to do when you’ve been dropped into a foreign world and have no clue where your former crew has ended up. Not to mention the two very intriguing Vex, who give off very mixed signals. Not that Grian is any better at communication.

Wemmbu looked at the ender pearl cannon with a glare, while normally he would’ve used it to escape without a second thought. Theo wasn’t chasing him anymore for some reason and Parrot was nowhere to be seen.
He also knew that Parrot was smart and he wouldn’t be surprised if the cannon was rigged to teleport him into a trap to reveal his identity.
(Or my take on if Wemmbu's secret identity lasted a lot longer)

It started subtle. Wemmbu's trip to the Farlands there, Parrot's search for riches, Flame's hunt for greatness and Spoke's search for clarity. It all, except for Wemmbu's adventure, led to the same dimension that they last expected even from their own conscious. The sight of Egg perched just at the edge of the void was enough to confirm themselves.
OR : The End's being weird, Wemmbu suddenly went missing and the others discover multiple tapes of him as well as a convenient tape recorder after getting trapped in said dimension.
