“I…” Karma rested his head in his hands as he willed the events of that morning to make themselves known to him. And for the classroom to stop performing barrel rolls. “I left the house early because…” Why had he left early? Why would he ever leave early? He never left early. In fact, he usually waited until the last second to get out of bed. Caught the last train that would get him to class just as the bell rang. Why would he…? “Because Nagisa and I were meeting up.”
“Nagisa?” Sugino’s hand came down on Karma’s desk with a bang that didn’t sound unlike a gunshot to Karma’s sensitive ears. “You were with Nagisa?”
“Take it easy.” Takebayashi pulled Sugino back when Karma flinched and groaned at the noise.
