Ted wasn’t freaking out. Pete wasn’t answering his phone, but he was probably just with his friends, he’s easily distracted. Pete was just at Richie’s, waiting for Ruth’s stage rehearsal to finish and Richie’s house was closer to Hatchetfield High.
Except that wasn’t true either. Because Richie was at St. Damien’s, lying directly in front of Ted, looking fucking awful.
And Pete was certainly not with them.
OR:
Ted got roped into watching Richie at the hospital in the aftermath and Pete needs to pick up the goddamn phone.
