Summary
The bed feels so cold, so lonely without Feng Xin to hold him. Mu Qing has gotten used to Feng Xin hugging him closely to his chest, carding his fingers through his hair and giving him goodnight kisses.
Mu Qing comes to the realization that he doesn’t want to fall asleep alone. He misses Feng Xin more than he’s willing to admit — both out loud and to himself — but he still has hope that Feng Xin will eventually return.
(After a bad fight with Mu Qing, Feng Xin storms out of their apartment and doesn't come back for hours. Left to his own devices, Mu Qing finds it difficult not to overthink their relationship.

Five times the team realizes Lance isn't okay, and one time they start to make things better. OR, Lance is depressed and has gone mute after the events at Omega Shield. It isn't until they reach Earth and he begins using sign language with his family that they really notice how distant Lance has become.

“Like, you could’ve said that I’m–”
“So brave and strong for surviving? Oh, I was so, so worried. Good job for surviving so long without me,” Mu Qing says, rolling his eyes while drawling out the last sentence, words so saccharine they send chills creeping down his spine. “Good boy, Feng Xin.”
A strange, warm tingle spreads through Feng Xin's body, all the way to the tips of his fingers, as he feels his face flush.
The first realization that strikes his poor, poor heart: Mu Qing staring at him with his piercing, slightly mean gaze, saying nice things about him however sarcastic it may be, makes his heart burst and skin burn.

"What is it?" Mu Qing asked, confused about why Feng Xin had suddenly froze.
"….Heh..heh.." Feng Xin stood back up, scratching the back of his neck with his arms. Mu Qing stayed silent, waiting for Feng Xin to elaborate more on his own. Feng Xin seemed to pick up on his cue, sighing heavily. "They were Jian Lan's favourite. She used to talk about them all day long. I guess I still remember some facts she told me.“
Oh.
Or, after meeting with Jian Lan, Mu Qing becomes really insecure and can't sleep.
