Kyuu glared at her. “Who are you?”
“I guess it is a bit creepy having random adults stopping you to talk.” She chuckled lightly. “I’m Yosano Akiko, the Armed Detective Agency’s doctor. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“I don’t like doctors,” Kyuu snarled. “And I won’t like the one enemy doctor.”
“I also don’t like my one enemy doctor! We have that in common.” Yosano’s expression suddenly became very grim. “But… the real reason why I hate him, and why I’m here, is not because he’s an enemy…”
Her gaze went to the doll Kyuu was holding.
“But rather because I don’t think he treats his patients right. I know what the Port Mafia did and still does to people, especially people like us.”
“Us?”
“Yes. Ability users are stripped away of their lives to become tools and forced to do the cruelest things—no one deserves that. And that’s why…”
Yosano let out a nervous breath. “I’m offering you a spot in the Agency.”
