Summary
Sam really thought that being in a successful romantic relationship with Bucky would cut down on the level of avian meddling in his love life. Unfortunately, it has not.
“I don’t know why you stay in this dump of a nest, I really don’t,” says the distinctly disapproving looking pigeon on Sam’s fire escape. Its two friends are also staring at him with their judgmental, and somehow also disappointed, beady little eyes.
Sam and Bucky investigate a birdnapping. Meanwhile, the birds of New York continue to have some strong opinions about Sam’s love life.

Summary
Sam is vulnerable. Yes, Sam is a veteran, an Avenger and at the very least forty levels of badass, but he’s also just human. And Bucky won’t be the kind of man who hurts his fella. So most days they have dinner together, make love and cuddle, and then Bucky goes to sleep in his own room, the one with every kind of security measure that Nat, Bucky and Tony could think up.
It works, until it doesn’t.

Summary
Women. Wives. Hostages. A funny little ecosystem Anthony’s established, kept in line of course by the ruling class of brutes he’s recruited, the ones that smoke and spit and swear and shoot whoever the fuck a Foreman tells them to. A band of brothers, Anthony calls them. Tilly just thinks they’re fools, but of course no one’s ever asking her anyway.
“You’re so young.” He says. He sounds so forlorn. Sounds like he’s in mourning. “Oh, I didn’t know they captured girls so young.”
“I was younger when they got me.” She answers absently. She doesn’t think too hard about the use of the word captured, because it makes it seem like maybe tonight was inevitable. Maybe it didn’t matter that she’s fifteen and not close to sixteen neither, or that she’s still skinny like a little boy and no man in their right minds would want her. Because maybe it’s not about want to these fellers. Maybe it’s just sort of about power.

His future apprentice has his hair tied back into a knot of a ponytail. There is a cloth on his shoulder, and a tiny infant barely bigger than the hand that cradles them lays atop it. His eyes show circles underneath, and his simple tunic and trousers are stained and likely two days without washing. He has not even bothered with a glove over his mechanical hand.
And he is beaming exuberantly.
