In which Poseidon was having a bit of an identity crisis the night he and Sally conceived Perseus Jackson and the entire world has to deal with it because Perseus Jackson doesn't take shit from anyone, not even the Olympians.
Or in which a female Perseus Jackson was raised by Medusa along with her mother (until Sally's death) and learned something from each of her godly or monstrous siblings. Meaning fourteen year old Perseus Jackson will have absolutely NO patience for her weather boy uncle's temper tantrums and even less patience when Hades threatens her dead mother's soul. “It’s nice to meet you, Sally. I’m Em. I’m pretty familiar with this area, so if you need a short ride somewhere, or directions I could help.” says Em, the woman who helped them escape Gabe.
“We’re looking for some place to stay. A motel. Secluded, and a bit far from the train station if possible.” Sally says.
“I have a few vacant bedrooms, if you want to stay for a few days until you get things sorted out. It’s been awhile since I’ve had guests so it might be a bit dusty.”
Sally hesitates. As helpful as Em has been, she’s still a stranger, and the offer seems a bit too good to be true, not to mention that Sally isn't comfortable accepting charity. She looks at her son, Percy. The eight year old looks tired; packing and running has taken its toll on him, as it has on her. She’d like nothing more than to eat a warm meal somewhere safe and crash for the next twenty four hours, and she knows her son feels the same way.
“Alright. Just for a few days.” Sally agrees.
