"But imagine how subversive Captain America could be when certain parts of the story are altered or emphasized and if the Captain America mythology is taken out of the hands of Marvel’s franchise and manipulated by people who will never see themselves in mainstream media. Through fanfiction, some are able to reclaim Steve Rogers/Captain America and all of the associated meanings behind the character called “Captain America” by reimagining who he was, what identities were important to him, and what his motivations were."
This is literally just an essay about queering Captain America. I mainly analyzed Roll On, Known Associates, and Jacob (I have loved) by jaxington, thingswithwings and Lasgalendil respectively.

He can keep them all discrete and harmonious - a well-oiled machine.
Except Hayden really should know about Ilya, shouldn't he? And surely telling him can't blow Shane's life up too much? Ilya doesn't think so, but Ilya routinely asserts that his skates are "too American and trying to humble him", so maybe Ilya's opinions aren't always to be entirely trusted.
OR: Hayden Pike loves Shane a lot. Enough to tolerate the Russian shitbag that is Ilya Rozanov? Well...

Summary
Kip loves Scott, so he's willing to join him wherever he's needed, whether that's at games or social events or - god forbid - MLH-mandated youth hockey initiatives.
Even if Ilya Rozanov is there.
OR: Kip and Ilya meet after the on-ice kiss. An unlikely friendship ensues, along with an even more unlikely double date.
OR: Scott Hunter thinks Rozanov might have found a new and unusual method of torture: making friends with his boyfriend. That alone is bad enough, but when Rozanov shows up at his door with Shane Hollander in tow, Scott is left to reckon with the frankly unfathomable fact of their secret decade-long relationship.
He still thinks he's too lazy to be a serial killer, but perhaps a single premeditated murder isn't off the table.
