Can't always be expected to have the most continuity, something mildly amusing to write, hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing, I think the stories are for the most part in the same 'verse' but I can't promise anything about them being in order, because I tend to write when I have the idea

    Summary

Everyone was either born with the name of their soulmate on their bodies or- if they were the older one- as soon as their soulmate was born. Buck was a couple months old when the name Edmundo Diaz showed up on his torso, so he never knew a time without the name.

Tommy had never thought much about his soulmate. He was born with their name on his chest, so it just seemed like any other birthmark someone might have. It didn’t help that his parents- especially his dad- hated the name he had.

    John Fielder.

He didn’t understand how they could hate someone they had never met- hate someone who was supposed to love their son- but deep down he knew it wasn’t about that. John was a man. And that was all that mattered. It didn’t matter that the universe said this man was going to make Tommy the happiest man alive, because the gender meant the universe must have made a mistake.

Or: Buck and Tommy both find their soulmates and make a life with each other.

    Summary

As soon as the baby was placed in Buck’s hands, he knew his life was never going to be the same. She was so small and precious and resilient. And her mother literally tried to flush her away.

“We don’t go past the glass doors,” Bobby said, “Our work is done and now it’s the doctor’s job.”

But that didn’t feel right. He had no problem passing off any other patient. But that baby… she needed someone who loved her and would care for her.

“My son- Evan- was taken from the hospital a few hours after that photo was taken.”
“That looks like my birthmark,” Buck said.
Bobby nodded, “Athena thought so, too, when she saw you. And with some help from Karen it’s been confirmed.”

Karen works part time at a bakery and also has a lab at home where she helps with genetic genealogy. Athena comes to her for help and things spiral.

    Summary

Sharon Goodwin stood at the head of the room like a priest about to deliver bad news at a funeral.
“This year’s gala,” she began, voice clipped, “has a revised objective. The board wants long-term investment. Not just charity. They want loyalty. Roots. We need to convince people this hospital isn’t just a place for their money — it’s an institution they want to keep alive.”

    Silence.

    A few dull exhales.

Will Halstead — of course — was the first to speak.

“We should do a date auction.”

April made a noise that could only be described as apocalyptic.

Will kept going, with the kind of manic confidence only available to white men with bad ideas and no inner monologue. “We feature the female staff. Doctors, nurses. Elegant, tasteful, obviously. Let the investors see what they’re supporting — intelligence, beauty, warmth. Give them a real connection.”

The temperature in the room dropped.

    “It was just an idea—”

“A bad one,” Sarah said. “But let’s not waste it. Let’s repurpose it.”

The silence pulsed. Sarah tilted her head toward Sharon—voice velvet, eyes diamond.

“Flip the script. Auction the men.”
