This was inspired by the scene between Meredith and George in Season 2 Episode 26 where George tells Meredith that "one night with you is better than never". It bothered me that Meredith was clearly in a vulnerable state, and George took advantage of that with his selfishness. As a friend, he should have known better.
Plus, it is impossible for anyone not to overhear the conversation in the middle of a hallway. My original idea was Addison overhearing which leads to a realization of her own worth and reciprocated feelings between her and Meredith. Then, I stumbled upon an idea on Tumblr by heraeire that aligned, which got me thinking:
Why not have both Meredith and Addison overhear each other?
