Alternate take on canon that masterfully incorporates the original events in new ways that completely make sense for the scenario. Also characterization is super fleshed out—like, I completely buy that this is the way they talk to each other and the conversations that a real human would actually have in these situations beneath the events Rachel Reid gave us.

What if the hospital visit had gone differently. Ilya’s enormous depth of love and yearning for Shane is just stunning. Seeing Yuna’s reaction when she’s alone with David about what she thinks she must have done wrong that Shane didn’t feel safe telling her. And, all the respect and empathy she brings to talking to Ilya.
