Summary
El wins the final battle and destroys the Upside Down and Dimension X, but the government steps in immediately. To prevent the truth from spreading and to isolate remaining test-subject knowledge, they forcibly wipe the memories of the core cast: Hawkins, Vecna, the Mind Flayer, Dimension X… and even their memories of each other. Except for one glitch: Mike’s mind never fully gets wiped. He remembers everything: El, Will, all the friends he’s lost, all the things they survived. Then he’s sent back to a “normal” life with parents and a little sister who now remembers none of it, in a town that never knew any of it happened. Mike runs into Will again years later, only Will has no idea who he is. They meet as strangers at a D&D event, of all things: Mike is a paladin Will is a cleric. They fall in love for the second time… but this time it’s only new for one of them

Summary
Mike twisted his hand around Will's, and just as he was about to lean down and kiss his boyfriend in the stupidly loud terminal of Derry's shitty airport, he was interrupted by a voice that he hadn't heard in years.
"Richie! You fucking motherfucker!" Eddie Kaspbrak screamed as he ran over, and just as Mike was about to shout at the inevitable punch, he instead groaned when Eddie yanked at the collar of his shirt, almost choked him, and crashed their mouths together so hard that their lips were probably bruised.
And Mike, who still loved Eddie as much as he loved Will, couldn't help himself as he leaned into the kiss and did his best to return the franticness of it.
"Uh," Max said somewhere to the side. "What the fuck?"

Mike remembered shedding the name Richie Tozier as soon as he had arrived in Hawkins, like some sort of disgusting and slimy seal skin.
It surprised him to realize that being Richie was actually akin to coming home.

A good, dreamless, refreshing, relaxing nap. One where he wouldn’t have to save people. It wasn’t like he chose to be a divine entity of time, after all, and his children’s decisions were becoming exhausting.
