Each one of the four major sects had their own rich, ancient traditions. None were, perhaps, quite as strange as the Jiang sect of Yunmeng.
The Jiang prided strength and passion in both their men and women, and this pride had brought forth the strangest of all marriage customs, unique to the Jiang of Yunmeng and relatively unknown save for those old enough to be interested in such traditions.
No one had ever expected that Lan Wangji, of the Gusu Lan, would ever have needed to be taught about this peculiar custom of the Jiang. An oversight that would become both lamented and celebrated in equal measure.Bookmarked by Loser34

Wei Wuxian hadn’t been avoiding Lan Wangji for years, but he hadn’t been not-avoiding Lan Wangji either. There was something awful and awkward about seeing your intended spouse after turning them down that Wei Wuxian just didn’t want to deal with. It helped that he went away for university, and that Lan Wangji went away for university, and they happened to both go to different countries. Wei Wuxian liked to think they both wanted to get as far away from the situation as possible.
(the situation being each other)
So why, then, does Wei Wuxian’s heart skip a beat every time he sees Lan Wangji? And why is adult Lan Wangji so hot? It’s not fair that they could be married and instead Wei Wuxian is awkwardly pining for his former betrothed, a boy he once publicly broke it off with without regret.
