Summary
In the Bakugo Rescue Mission, Izuku is forced to fight an experimental Nomu that infects him with an unknown pathogen, which is later called "The Destroyer Plague" upon being analyzed. Expelled from UA for the risk of contagion, he's taken by the HPSC, serving as their guinea pig and weapon, along with others.
But Izuku won't let that be his end. He, his trusty scythe and some unlikely friendships he makes along the way will escape from their situation.

When Izuku reveals his past as a Quirkless person to his classmates, things start to change. His classmates isolate him, the rest of the school comes to treat him differently.
It's like Aldera High all over again.
With this, Izuku starts to change, and All Might notices. Seeing his self-destructive routine, he doesn't see his bright-eyed successor anymore.
Believing he's not who he used to be, he asks to get One for All back. Izuku, to his surprise, agrees.
What nobody knows is that, with One for All gone, something else has taken its place.
Deku is gone. It's time for the Hobgoblin to take center stage.

A different quirk awakening that Izuku had in that world changed how things were meant to be. Izuku still walked away from Class 1-A and the hero course in U.A. after he learned the cruel truth about how heroism truly is in this world... but his heart refused to fully walk away from what Izuku truly was at his core, and that refusal would take him to a different path than the one that would leave Japan turned into nuclear waste.
This is a reimagination of the Sangría story... but with a closer look at the short that gave birth to it. Pys, by taking that unknown quirk in that story and giving it a new power set to make it into a full-fledged story.

Fifteen years ago, at the Musutafu General Hospital, an experimental device was brought into the maternity ward. It was said to be the perfect imaging device, a mix of MRI and Ultrasound technology, able to capture a flawless image of the unborn child. Granted, it did just that, but it also did something else. Out of the 144 babies born in the three weeks the machine was active, only 10 survived past 4 years, when their quirks caused an unknown illness dubbed as “Quirk Energy Overload”
As for those who did survive, their quirks became supercharged. Even among the rapidly growing strength of quirks, theirs were extraordinary. Some quirks changed entirely, others were simply upgraded to astronomical proportions. Altered quirks became known as “Divergent Quirks”, while upgrades became known as “Augments”

"Exactly," Nedzu chirped.
"You know what? Threatening the HPSC would be much easier. In that case, you wouldn't have to accept him here at all."
"And do you think they would simply withdraw this, even with a threat, Izuku-kun?" Nedzu wondered, tilting his head in that cute way, but for some reason, it seemed more dangerous than that.
Izuku gave him an annoyed look. "I'm not interested in your offer, Nedzu Sensei. There's no need for that. I'll find a way to handle him... maybe threaten him a little." He muttered the last part quietly, but everyone in the room heard it.
"You haven't even heard what my offer is, Izuku kun," Nedzu pointed out, feigning innocence, as if he hadn't asked Izuku to deal with that on his day off, while that would happen next year.
Izuku looked at Nedzu in disbelief.

Okay so maybe everything wasn’t fine- It wasn’t his fault his childhood friend told him to take a swan dive off of a roof.
