On hindsight, Jason probably should have heeded his injuries from the previous night and stayed in. Maybe he should have swallowed his pride and asked for some Bat-assistance. But 20/20 was stupid, he was already in this situation and didn’t want to think of mistakes and regrets. Besides, the Bats and him were tenuous allies at best, nothing more. No reason for them to answer his call for help.

Neither Damian nor Jason were keen on the escape plan. Not only were they forced to leave Talia behind in enemy territory, they were supposed to seek refuge from a virtual stranger: the fabled Bat of Gotham City. Yet they had no choice but to trust Talia's plan and head to Wayne Manor with nothing but stolen weapons and rations, their own bleeding and injured bodies, and the League of Assassins on their tail.
Even so, Jason couldn't help but doubt Talia's trust in The Bat, their risky plan and destination, and his own ability to keep both Damian and himself alive.

After Jason had publicly rejected the offer to join the False Facers, the most feared and prestigious social circle in the high school, he had been roughly shoved into the wall of a near barren hallway. He was ready to brush it off as a mere accident, but it kept on happening. A shove, a push, an attempt to trip.
Despite Artemis insisting that he do something about it, he was bent on ignoring the threats.
It wasn’t like anything that Sionis had done had been directly life threatening. Sure, Jason would prefer it if his stuff remained untouched, but he knew that it would soon blow over.

Summary
Jason barely even registered dropping to his knees.
Damian was safe.
There was a hand was on his shoulder in an instant. Jason blinked slowly, dimly wondering when Tim had gotten there too. Tim’s mouth was moving, and at some point a hand had cupped Jason’s cheek.
A heavy raindrop hit the top of his head and Tim was still talking except he wasn’t actually saying anything at all, the strengthening wind stealing his voice away. No. It wasn’t the wind. The wind wasn’t that strong. Tim was just forgetting to actually talk.
Tim glanced behind himself then, addressing Dick because Dick was there, Dick was real. Tim was real too. They were real, even if Jason himself wasn’t.
The hand on his shoulder tightened and all at once he was being hugged hard.
Jason didn’t know why Tim was bothering to hug him at all, he should be checking in on Damian. Damian wasn’t screaming, he was sobbing, and instead of trying to push away from Dick he was now clutching onto him as if Dick was a lifeline.
And Dick was a lifeline, he always had been, even when Jason had known that Dick was worlds away.

“Have you taken any medication?” Tim asked.
An even more firm shake of the head.
“Antibiotics?”
Another shake, this one with a clear grimace.
“I don’t know much about whipping wounds,” Tim said. “But I can only assume the highest risk would be infection. Have you cleaned them? Or is that why you needed an extra set of hands?”
This time it was a nod, the movement no less jolting than everything else had been.
“And you really won’t let me take you to Leslie or another Doctor?”
Another shake.
Tim sucked in a deep breath, closing his eyes for a long moment. This really was out of his expertise, usually he was just dealing with one, maybe two gashes from knives but this many cuts from what must have been from some kind of whip?
Well, there was no point in wasting any more time. It must have taken Jason a considerable amount of courage to contact Tim, even under false pretences, and Tim wasn’t going to make it so that Jason never trusted his discretion again.

Jason’s voice trailed off.
He blinked, then again. Taking out his phone, he looked at the lock screen.
“Get out.” Jason whispered.
“Jase,”
“Get. Out.”
“Just hear me out, I only wanted to-”
Jason’s leg kicked out hard, hitting Tim’s own and before he could stop himself he stumbled back with a genuine cry of pain. It wasn’t broken, or even dislocated, but it still fucking hurt but as soon as Tim raised his head once more he saw that the door was completely shut.
“Jason,” Tim said. “At least call Roy. Or maybe one of the Outsiders. Hell, call anyone. Just don’t be alone. Not today.”
