Summary
A small cough pulls him out of his thoughts. It was quiet, so quiet he had almost missed it, but his paranoia kept him hyper-aware of his surroundings these days. Taking another quick drag he pushed himself off the hood, looking around to find the source of the noise. "Great, a dark alleyway." He muttered to himself, slowly walking over. As he rounded the corner he heard another small movement, something was behind the dumpster. He felt a prickle of fear run down his spine as he moved closer.
Or, Mike finds a freezing Michael and helps him out.

Summary
Michael Afton-centric Febuwhump 2026.
Mike is not the man Father is. Not so clear-cut and willing to do the cutting. When Michael makes mistakes — because he does, of course he does, he always does — he doesn't lock Michael up or beat him or scream at him until his ears are ringing. He doesn't give Michael orders and then pick apart how well he'd completed them, always finding faults, finding something worth punishment. Mike doesn't make it make sense. He's patient and awkward and rough and kind and tired. He asks Michael what he did today and seems content even when Michael did nothing. He is proud when Michael showers or eats or draws.
He frowns when he finds Michael shaking in the bathroom.Bookmarked by Lulugoose

Summary
""What do you—" Mike says, and then realization hits him as Michael leisurely holds the bottle of pills aloft to inspect the label. "Put those down!"
Michael's gaze snaps to him, lips curling slowly once again into a sick smile, but for some reason the look shining in his pale eyes this time makes any more words die in Mike's throat.
"Father used to give us these," Michael says conversationally, rattling the bottle between his finger and thumb as if to assess how many are in there. "Loprazolam. Benzo tranquillizers, very effective."
"They're for insomnia."
"You don't have insomnia."
"You don't know what the fuck I have.""Or, Michael takes a sudden interest in Mike's sleeping pills. Sleeping does, after all, sound quite nice.
