This had plagued Vox since he and Alastor had become acquaintances. The obsession faded for a short period when Alastor disappeared on his 7-year sabbatical, only for it to come back with a raging vengeance.
What Vox did not expect was Alastor to start having the same obsession.
And Vox did not expect to end up on the end of Alastor's leash.

His tongue felt like dead fish in his mouth. Had he had fallen asleep? He hadn’t done that since he was a child. Why was he on the floor? He tried to form words, but it just came out as a groaned exhale.
Essek is poisoned-- luckily his new friends won't stop bothering him and one in particular knows a little something about poisons.

His frame looks small, slumped, a twisted dreamscape parody of fantasies in which the sleek line of a mantle is stripped down to bare soft curves of shoulders and throat.
